Camp Sandy Cove is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia. We are 25 minutes west of Winchester, VA, 90 minutes from Washington, DC, 2 hours from Baltimore, MD, and 4 hours from Philadelphia. Click here for a map and directions.
We encourage families to drive their children to camp each summer. This allows parents to meet our staff and see the facility. However, there are a few other ways for your child to arrive.
Shuttle Bus: Camp Sandy Cove offers a shuttle service for those who live closer to our conference center in North East, Maryland. Round trip transportation will be provided for a fee of $40 from Sandy Cove Ministries in North East, Maryland (for directions visit www.sandycove.org) to Camp Sandy Cove in High View, West Virginia and back. Shuttle service runs on Sundays only. A reservation is required for each shuttle bus passenger. Please contact our Registrar for times, fees and to make a reservation.
Plane: Dulles International Airport is approximately 2 hours from Camp Sandy Cove. Transportation to and from the Airport is provided for $40 per person for campers arriving by plane.
Campers enrolled in our traditional camp program are housed in cabins. Each cabin is equipped with twin and/or bunk beds, electricity, bathrooms, and shower facilities. Most cabins accommodate 10 campers and 2 staff.

To register on-line, simply click here or anywhere on the site where you see this register image. You can also register by calling the Registrar at 800.234.COVE (2683), ext 454.
Yes! Don't let finances keep your child away from camp! Click here to download a simple application for up to 50% off based on financial or spiritual need.
If two or more children from the same family attend camp, the first child is charged the full basic camp fee and each additional child is allowed a $25.00 discount.
Check-in is from 4-5 pm on Sundays. Pick-Up is the following Sunday from 10 -11 am. There will be an awards ceremony at 10 am, before departure, which parents are welcome to attend in the gymnasium at the top of the hill. Please do not arrive early for Check-in on Sundays. Our staff members need time to prepare themselves and the facility for new campers.
For campers staying more than one week at camp, visiting hours are 11am-4 pm on Sundays.
Camp Sandy Cove will host an Open House on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 1-4 pm. For more information, or to arrange for a private tour, please contact our Registrar or Camp Director.
Campers are assigned to a cabin with other campers their same age and gender. Roommate requests can be made on the camper registration form and are honored to the best of our ability.
Campers are grouped with other campers of the same age for activities, chapels, Bible studies, free swim, etc. These "units" are defined as follows:
The different Units at camp may have different daily schedules. Please contact the Registrar before registering in order to discuss your options.
Payment in full is required on June 1. If you have registered on-line, this can be scheduled automatically to be billed to your credit card. If you have registered over the phone or in the mail, the Registrar will send you a bill and you may pay by check or credit card. If you register after June 1, payment in full is due at time of registration.
If you cannot attend the week for which you are registered, please notify the Registrar immediately. The registration fee is non-refundable but fully transferable until June 1. Cancellations after that time will not receive a refund of the deposit or a transfer to another week.
A packing list for traditional campers is listed below. Campers who will participate in the LIT program will receive a separate packing list once they have registered.
*Any material which we perceive as inappropriate for camp will be held in the office until the end of the week.
